Beautiful Transitions knows the vulnerability of pregnancy, labor, and the post partum period. I also know the innate strength which has been given to you to navigate this transition as a woman and mother. Lastly I am aware of the incredible gift a caring community is during a time of vulnerability and struggle. Through quality doula care, Beautiful Transitions offers support to you and your partner as you navigate this vulnerable time, access your strength, and utilize your tribe and your community.
This support starts with pre natal appointments to discuss your birth vision, concerns, fears, and individualized preparation for labor and delivery. Continuous care during labor and delivery is the center of your birth package, with optional breastfeeding support during the first 1-2 hours after birth. Labor support includes emotional, mental, and physical support through positioning, counter pressure, massage, and use of essential oils and other comfort measures. Lastly a post partum follow up appointment is offered to process your birth experience and link you to any services as appropriate as you care for your newborn.
Bringing your little one home is a time of celebration and joy juxtaposed to a time of mental, emotional, and physical vulnerability and significant learning. Beautiful Transitions is here to support you in making this time beautiful with more focus on the joy and celebration. When our services are completed you are connected to the support in your local community to transition smoothly into the next stage of your motherhood.
"The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any."
My name is Melea. I am a wife, mom, friend, mental health therapist, and birth doula, owner of Beautiful Transitions. I love the outdoors, everything natural living, DIY projects, being creative, and spending time with my tribe, including my 1 year old, my husband and close friends.
My vision to support women during pregnancy and labor developed soon after I had my son, he was born right before Christmas in 2016. I brought him home on Christmas day. My labor and delivery was far from how I had envisioned it and so were the next 6 months. While I took advantage of every support possible in my community, I found myself in shock at how much support I utilized, needed, and still yet needed, even with family and friends giving me a hand, a meal, and a shoulder to cry on. I was also in awe of all women who had come before me in this transition, beginning their motherhood journey and the innate strength which was found in them and I found in myself.
I was blessed by seeing my close friend's son being born a year earlier. Seeing birth unfold in front of you is a life changing experience. Guided by my previous training as a therapist and a desire to make a change, Beautiful Transitions was created.
